Hatim Hamad, DDS, MS
Dr. Hamad brings a unique blend of extensive expertise and genuine compassion to our practice. A California native who grew up in Los Angeles, Dr. Hamad discovered his passion for dentistry early and pursued excellence at every step. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 1999, graduating with honors. Instead of going straight into private practice, Dr. Hamad accepted a commission as an officer in the U.S. Navy to further hone his skills.
During his naval service, Dr. Hamad completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program and served as a general dentist for military communities. It was here that he found his calling in endodontics and decided to specialize. After rigorous selection, he received his formal Certificate in Endodontics from the Naval Postgraduate Dental School in Bethesda, MD. At the same time, he earned a Master’s Degree in Health Sciences from George Washington University.
Upon finishing his specialist training, Dr. Hamad was entrusted to lead as the Endodontics Department Head at the Groton Naval Submarine Base in Connecticut, where he treated servicemembers and trained other dentists in endodontic techniques.
In 2007, Dr. Hamad returned to Buffalo as a civilian and entered private endodontic practice. He also became a part-time Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Endodontics at the University at Buffalo, sharing his knowledge with postgraduate residents. Teaching kept him on the cutting edge of endodontic research and techniques; experience he now brings to our Tampa practice. Over his 20+ year career, Dr. Hamad has performed thousands of root canal procedures and micro-surgeries, helping patients save teeth that might otherwise be lost. He regularly attends continuing education courses to refine his skills.
